“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”

Here is also another one just some food for thought:
“You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you. But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew."

I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has commented on my blog or have just came to read. This is still a far journey for us and I am enjoying every bit of it so far. As long as we continue to encourage and motivate each other I believe everyone will come out successful. Lets stay strong and positive and continue to strive for perfection.

Hello Carlos
ReplyDeleteI like both of the quotes that you chose. But I like this one in particular, “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.” This is so very true because some might think that it is not possible to teach children how to thinkers. Many people believe one is either born with intellect or not. This is not true. Creative and critical thinking are skills which can be learned. The reality is that students are natural-born creative thinkers, but the conformity of schools has drilled students into a submission that precludes analytical and creative thinking.
Hello Carlos
ReplyDeleteIt has been a pleasure sharing information with you throughout this class. It is good to get ideas and point of views from others regarding early childhood. Each and every person has their own opinion about how children should be raised in order to progress, learn, and grow. I value your opinion because I can gain a better understanding of what young children need in all developmental domains. By using different approaches to learning it enables us to better help the child. The early years of a child's life are very important for his or her health and development. Parents, health professionals, educators, and others can work together as partners to help children grow up to reach their full potential. Healthy development means that children of all abilities, including those with special health care needs, are able to grow up where their social, emotional and educational needs are met. Having a safe and loving home and spending time with family―playing, singing, reading, and talking―are very important. Proper nutrition, exercise, and rest also can make a big difference. I appreciate all of your input in these areas and I know that this will be of help to me in the future. I wish you the best of luck in furthering your education.
